The Engage Youth Project is a cross community and cross border youth programme designed to challenge young peoples’ attitudes to cultural identity, equality and diversity. It brings together young people from Donegal, Derry/Londonderry and Belfast incorporating single identity, cross community and cross community/cross border work.
Through accredited media programmes young people are supported to produce stories, films, audio packages and photography for publication, broadcast and exhibitions to influence their communities, challenge perceptions and promote diversity.
The programme delivers accredited training in journalism, photography, podcasting and radio. Participants also have an international residential in Belgium/France where they learn about World War One and the impact of this conflict on the island of Ireland. Participants develop an understanding of a shared past and acquire an OCN Qualification /skills in peace building.
Each programme also includes team building workshops, cultural trips and outdoor pursuits.
